Bordering the village of Luttenberg lies the isolated nature reserve De Luttenberg, part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park.

The villagers feel a strong connection with the nature reserve in 'their backyard'. The terrain lends itself well to taking a short walk with quite a bit of difference in altitude.
For the origin of De Luttenberg we go far back in time: the area was created in the penultimate ice age and is part of a moraine complex. The many fields around De Luttenberg are still regularly worked with historical machines from Salland agricultural museum de Laarman. Walking through coniferous and deciduous forests, along heathlands, coppices and fields you will discover fantastic views. For example, from the top of De Luttenberg in clear weather you have a good view of the Palthetoren, located on the Haarlerberg.
